Today Sony started rolling the latest update for Sony Xperia C5 Ultra (for both single and dual sim). The update brings the software version to 29.2.A.0.166 (single sim) and 29.2.B.0.166 (dual sim). With this update, Sony has included the latest security patch along with regular bug fixes and improvement. The update is still based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The update is rolling now via OTA for users running on Stock ROM. If your device is rooted, then you have to wait for the download link to download the 29.2.A.0.166 and 29.2.B.0.166 FTF File for Xperia C5 Ultra. We will soon get you that. The update is rolling in a phase-wise manner, it may take some time to reach every user around the globe.
If you didn’t receive the notification of the new update, then Go to Settings —> About phone —-> System updates. You may find the new update with build number 29.2.A.0.166 and 29.2.B.0.166 for Xperia C5 Ultra (single or dual), hit the download button to start downloading and installing the update. After downloading, your phone will be upgraded to latest security patch.
Before proceeding to download, your phone must have enough battery backup with at least 50% battery. Also, check if you have enough storage to download and install the latest update on Sony Xperia C5 Ultra. We suggest you to choose a Wi-Fi or a 4G connection to download it. Also, don’t forget to take the data backup to avoid any problem in case things go wrong. After following the procedure mentioned above, you can now start downloading the new update on Xperia C5 Ultra. As this update is incremental OTA, it wouldn’t take a lot of time to download and install.
