Update Android 8.1 Oreo based AOSPExtended ROM on Moto Z (Griffin)

The Moto Z (Codename: Griffin) mobile features a 5.5-inches AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and later upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat. Motorola promised to release the Official Android 8.0 Oreo update very soon for this device. There is no ETA yet! AOSP Extended is a new firmware for the Moto Z (Griffin) made by XDA Senior member, The Marionette and his team of developers. In the company’s own words,

AOSP Extended is an AOSP based rom which provides stock UI/UX with various customisations features along with the Substratum theme engine. The project has been made by cherry-picking various commits from various other projects. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box.

AOSP Extended is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which means that its UI is no different from stock Android on the Pixel phones. The focus of the ROM is not on the UI; it’s about making more features available for the smartphone with regular updates and support.

Now you can download and install the AOSP Android 8.1 Oreo for Motorola Moto Z. Along with Android 8.1 Oreo features, The update also adds the latest November Security Patch.

Changes and Update to Android 8.1 Oreo:

To install this ROM on Motorola Moto Z, First of all, you need to Unlock Bootloader on your device, and then Install TWRP Recovery. If you already have TWRP, then you can simply follow the below guide to Install TWRP Recovery. We also shared officially Supported device list of Android Oreo and also Supported device list of Lineage OS 15.0.
