Meizu 16X launched in September 2018. The phone came out of the box with Android 8.0 Oreo. Today we have good news for all custom ROM fan out there with Meizu 16X. Now you can download and install AOSiP OS on Meizu 16X based on Android 9.0 Pie.

To install AOSiP OS on Meizu 16X, your device should have Bootloader Unlocked and should be running on latest TWRP Recovery. If you have all this, then you are good to try the new AOSiP ROM on your device. Follow our guide on how to upgrade, but before that. Let’s understand about the AOSiP ROM.

Meizu 16X is powered by a Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz 360 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 360 Silver) with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. It also supports an external memory card. The device came out of the box with Android 8.1 Oreo under FlyMe 7.1 and backed by a 3100 mAh battery (Non-removable). As far as the camera concerned, the device has a dual-camera setup with 12MP + 20MP primary sensors and a selfie camera with an 20MP lens. Other connectivity option includes 4G-VoLTE, GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth, Mobile Hotspot, accelerometer,  gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass. etc. The Meizu 16X come with a face unlock feature.

Steps to Install AOSiP OS on Meizu 16X:

To install any custom ROM, you need to follow the pre-required details.

Pre-Requisite:

  • Supported: Meizu 16X
  • Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%.
  • We strongly recommend you to take a complete backup of your personal data, including the internal storage. The phone will be formatted, so be prepared for it. You can also follow our Android backup guide for the same. [Follow any method]
  • Your device should be bootloader unlocked.
  • If your device supports TWRP Recovery, then you can follow the first method to flash via TWRP. If not, then install via ADB.

Instructions to Install via TWRP Recovery

If the TWRP is supported on your device, then you can flash the AOSiP OS GSI on Meizu 16X following this method.

  1. You need to first install any treble supported ROM on your device.
  2. Now make sure download the appropriate zip of GSI for your device (i.e. A or A/B)
  3. In your TWRP, [ boot into TWRP Recovery] You need to wipe: Dalvik and Cache
  4. You can flash the GSI (system image) from recovery
  5. To do that, install the System image file in TWRP: Install -> Install Image -> select system.img
  6. Reboot & Enjoy

Instructions to Install via ADB Sideload

If TWRP is not supported on your device, then you can flash the AOSiP OS GSI on Meizu 16X by ADB and Fastboot tool.

  1. First of all, make sure to download ADB on your PC
