The Cubot X18 Plus is now officially available for purchase, weeks after the Chinese OEM announced the device as an upgrade to the Cubot X18 smartphone. The Cubot X18 Plus is, at the moment, available on GearBest at a flash sale price of $129.99, but to spice things up, GearBest will be selling the Cubot X18 Plus at even a more discounted price ($79.99) to the first 10 buyers from 9:00 UTC (also 9:00 GMT) between March 5 to March 12. That’s 120 units of the Cubot X18 Plus to be sold at $79.99.

Cubot X18 Plus

Made out of glossy plastic and aluminum alloy frame, the Cubot X18 Plus is available in Black, Blue and Gold colour variants … and has a stunning design and build. The glossy and shiny rear back cover of the device helps make the attractive and eye-catching, but it may get smeared by finger prints and lose the glossiness.

The Cubot X18 Plus comes joins other Cubot devices (like the Cubot Magic and Cubot Rainbow 2) by having dual camera on the rear. The dual camera system is made of a primary 16-megapixels lens, a secondary 0.3-megapixels, and dual LED flashlights. The primary lens can be beefed up to 20MP through software interpolation. Below the dual camera is the sensor for fingerprint identification.

On the front, the screen of the Cubot X18 Plus covers a very large portion of the device’s frontal real estate. The X18 Plus’ screen is bigger than the Cubot X18’s and it has slimmer bezels for more display view and a better viewing experience. The display is sized 5.99-inches and comes with a Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels) and 403 ppi pixel density.

The navigation buttons are on the screen and have a translucent background that doesn’t block out the display. The Cubot X18 Plus comes out of the box comes with the latest version of Google’s operating system, the Android v8.0 Oreo OS. You won’t get to enjoy the stock Android experience, though, as the OS and interface has been little bit modified.

The Cubot X18 Plus has dual grills at the bottom — houses the device’s loudspeakers and microphone. In between both grills is a micro USB port for charging and file transfer between external devices.

The volume adjustment keys and power/lock button are on the right-hand side of the X18 Plus and they perfectly blend with the aluminum frame of the device.

On the inside, a MediaTek MT6750 chip is on board to run the device’s operations. The chip comes with 8 cores with a frequency of up to 1.5GHz and a Mali T860 graphics processor. In terms of storage, the Cubot X18 Plus has 4GB of RAM for efficient and flawless multitasking and 64GB on board for keeping files and other multimedia.

Keeping the X18 Plus up and running is a fast charging 4,000mAh Lithium Ion that takes only 2 hours to fill up but gives 24 hours of music play and about 12 hours of web browsing time.
