How To Install dotOS on Xiaomi Mi Note 2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (codename: scorpio) launched in October 2016. The phone came out of the box with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. If you are a fan of Custom ROM, then you can try the latest Custom ROM dotOS on Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The ROM is based on the latest AOSP Android 8.1 Oreo. You can simply follow this guide to install the dotOS on Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (scorpio).

Talking about the specifications, Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a 5.7-inches display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4/6GB of RAM. The phone packs 64/128GB internal memory. The camera on the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with 22.5MP and 8MP front shooting camera. It is backed by a Non-removable Li-Ion 4070 mAh battery with Fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0). It also has Fingerprint sensor in the front.

dotOS is a simple abbreviation of the term Droid On Time Operating System. The ROM is developed by XDA Recognized Contributor mohancm, in XDA forum. It is developed by a community and team members: Ganesh Varma and Kuber Sharma. The ROM brings many new tweaks and features and also merged some features from Best Custom ROM.

  1. First of all, you need to Unlock Bootloader on Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (scorpio)

  4. Now boot into TWRP Recovery, Here is the method to boot into Recovery.
  5. Before installing Wipe System Data on TWRP Recovery (DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL STORAGE)
