We know HTC could not stand the test of time and lost its place in the innovative smartphone world. However, it still has an active software support system for its existing smartphones. Currently, the Taiwanese OEM is rolling out software updates for HTC U11 and HTC U11+. The former is receiving the software update with build V3.30.709.2. On the other hand, HTC U11+ is receiving the current software with build V2.20.709.2.
Upon translation, we derived that the changelog mentions battery optimization, auto-brightness adjustments, and system enhancements. The changelog is the same for both HTC U11 and U11+. It is great that HTC is still working to provide maintenance for its older devices. Last month the HTC U11 received the Android 9.0 Pie update. This was the continuation of the same update which was found bugged when it first rolled in May 2019. Then the OEM pulled the buggy software back.
The current OTA update for both the devices are moving over-the-air. So, all the users may not receive the update right away as the rollout happens in phases. However, you can keep checking for the update from your device Settings > System > Software Update. If the update is available you will get a notification to install it.
The V3.30.709.2. update weighs about 678 MB and the V2.20.709.2 update is sized at 775 MB. The software size is quite huge. So, we suggest you to use Wi-Fi to download the update. The download process will be faster. Also, your carrier will not charge you for the data. Check that your devices have sufficient battery charge before installing the new update.
So, watch out for the new software update on your HTC U11 and U11+.
