Back in May 2019, Huawei launched Huawei Y9 Prime in India. It was the first Huawei device with a pop-up module to launch in India. The phone was running on EMUI 9 based on Android 9, later it received EMUI 9.1 in August. Now the phone starts receiving EMUI 10 which is based on Android 10 in India. The update brings system-wide dark mode, like other Android 10 running devices. This was reported by GSMArena first.
It also brings a color scheme inspired by Morandi color as well as Magazine design, which seamlessly curates the on-screen content into a design similar to a magazine. Other major changes include new animations with instant feedback, smooth movements, and impressive response times. The users can download EMUI 10 via the HiCare app.
To recall, the Huawei Y9 Prime sports a 6.59 inch FHD+ notchless TFT LCD display with a screen to body ratio of 84.3%. Huawei’s in-house octa-core Kirin 710 powers the device. This chipset couples with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage options. This can be further expandable via MicroSD card up to 512GB, although the device has a hybrid slot. The device sports a triple rear camera consisting of 16MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture coupled with a secondary 8MP ultra-wide sensor and finally a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. To the front, it has a 16MP f/2.0 aperture pop-up camera.
The device packs a 4,000 mAh battery which charges via type c. The phone has a physical fingerprint scanner at the back. As said above, the device was running EMUI 9 on top of Android 9. The Huawei Y9 Prime was made available in Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green color options. The device was made available at Rs 15,990
