From 2018 it was a trend for brands to have a sub-brand that will offer decent specifications with decent pricing and all other kinds of stuff. Talking about the sub-brands; Xiaomi had the Redmi sub-brand, Huawei still maintains as their Honor sub-brand, OPPO – Realme, and Vivo– IQOO. Back in 2019, Vivo introduced a new sub-brand under which the brand has launched some awesome flagship smartphones. This is non-other than the Vivo IQOO which was launched last year. Initially, there were reports that the bub-brand will focus on gaming smartphones and will take the lies of Xiaomi backed Black Shark, Asus ROG and Nubia Red Magic smartphones.

IQOO Comes as a Separate Brand!
But all of us were pretty surprised since the brand came out with flagship features and all of them were pretty affordable too. So we understood that the IQOO sub-brand is not about selling smartphones with gaming capabilities. But with flagship chipsets, cameras and at affordable pricing. However, most of the brands out there came with a trend of removing those brands and allowing them to exist as Independent. Realme was first among them to become independent. According to an exclusive report by 91mobiles, this report reveals that the Vivo will soon hit the Indian markets with the iQOO brand as a separate entity from Vivo. This also means that the IQOO will come as a separate brand and not as a sub-brand. The new brand will run independently from its parent company i.e. Vivo.
This is similar to what recently Xiaomi did with the POCO brand recently. Further, Xiaomi last year announced the separation of the Redmi brand from the main Mi brand. This is all in one effort for the brand to expand the product category and grab more market shares. Initially, Redmi and Realme entered the market as mid-range and budget models. But now these brands also have flagship models under their list.
IQOO phone with SD865 likely to arrive in India
And today, another report from India Tech Today reveals to us that the first IQOO phone for India will be fuelled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. The report also adds that the smartphone will launch in India soon. Sadly, we don’t know what the upcoming IQOO phone will be called and other specifications of the device.
To recall, the first IQOO phone that was unveiled last year had a top variant which was called Monster Inside Edition. This Monster Inside Edition came with a sportier appeal and with halo lights. As we said above, the brand was gaming-focused initially but now a Chinese tipster has claimed that IQOO is no longer a gaming-focused brand. Further, the company has also canceled the Monster Inside lighting and design an engineering machine of the next generation IQOO. We expect that he would be talking about the next Vivo IQOO 3.
Rumors have suggested that the upcoming IQOO 3 for China will be the company’s first phone with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform. The Snapdragon 865 SoC will also pair X55 modem which enables support for NSA and SA 5G networks in their home market. As per the new report, the same IQOO phone will be launching soon in India. But we don’t about its name or about its release date. It remains to be seen whether the device arrives with the iQOO 3 monikers or some other name. Since India isn’t 5G ready, the device may come with a 4G variant. is Hence, the phone may arrive in its 4G version in the country. We request you guys to wait for more official information.
Vivo IQOO 3 specifications (Rumored)
As per the recent reports, it can be said that the Vivo iQOO 3 will be sporting with a punch-hole Super AMOLED display which offers Full HD+ resolution and with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a normal screen refresh rate of 60Hz. We expect that the device would sport the same display which was available on the Vivo X30 series, Vivo S5 and finally the Vivo V17 India version.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 powered IQOO 3 will pack a massive 4,410 mAh battery with support for massive fast charging. It seems that the Vivo V1950A that was recently passed the 3C certification with 55W charger could be the new IQOO 3 smartphone. There are reports that the new smartphone will equip a 48MP primary camera sensor.
IQOO Trademarked three new Phones in India
There are some reports that the Vivo’s sub-brand, Oh no, it isn’t Vivo’s subbrand for anytime soon!. The new brand IQOO will launch its first smartphone in India by March 2020. While the said phone is expected to debut in China as IQOO 3, there is no information on the name of its Indian version. Vivo has recently filed trademarks for three new IQOO product names such as IQOO Pro, IQOO Neo and IQOO Lite with the Intellectual Property India. So we can confirm that India will be receiving IQOO smartphones with these names in the future.

IQOO is yet to launch a phone with the name IQOO Lite. Last year in September, Vivo had trademarked the IQOO Lite name with European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Hopefully, future reports will reveal more information on the IQOO Lite device. The above tweet has the screenshots with names of the newly trademarked IQOO phones.
