Leagoo Z6 Specs and Review: the $54 budget smartphone

China-based smartphone manufacturer, Leagoo, have a “Z” line of smartphone where only budget devices are in the group. The Leagoo Z6 belongs to the OEMs “Z” group of devices and it comes at a super affordable price tag while carrying impressive features. With the Leagoo Z6, everyone can now at least one a decent smartphone as it sells at a price way be $100 ($54 precisely).

The specs set for this $54 are interesting as they are the kind of specs you would find on costlier and more expensive devices. The fact that Leagoo have been on a mission of churning out affordable phones is good. But the fact that the OEM is sticking religiously to the mission is super laudable.

Being a low-end low-priced smartphone, the Leagoo Z6 isn’t the device with the best of design, structure, build, and form out there. The design is basic, just the same normal phone design you’d find in most smartphone within this price bracket —rectangle-shaped brick-like device with plastic covering and removable back cover for placement or removal of SIM cards, TF card, and battery.

The Leagoo Z6 has a 4.7-inch screen at the front with huge chunk of bezels to the top, bottom and sides. The display is a FWVGA type of diplay with mediocre, but decent, quality as it has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels resolution. Soft navigation buttons are below the screen, power button and volume rockers are on the right-hand side.

The device is available in three major colours (Silver, Black, and Gold) and an additional Blue variant.
The Z6 has a total of 2 cameras: a 5-megapixels GalaxyCore GC2375 CMOS sensor with f/2.2 aperture and dual LED flash, and a 2-megapixels GalaxyCore GC0409 sensor with a single front-facing LED flash.

This device is powered by a Quad-Core MediaTek 6580 system-on-chip and a dual-core Mali T400 graphics unit. The SoC can clock up to 1.3GHz and in conjunction with the 1GB of RAM, should be able to run basic messaging, gaming and utility applications very smoothly —though may perform poorly when handling too many apps and heavy games. There is 16GB of built-in storage on board to keep as many files, multimedia, documents, app data etc. as you wish to keep. Underneath the detachable back cover, there is a memory card slot that can take up to 32GB of external TF card to supplement the internal storage.
A detachable battery with 2,000mAh capacity is also present. On full charge, the battery can supply up to 12 hours of music play time and 7 hours of talk time.
