Sharp has launched a new smartphone in its newest lineup. The smartphone launched by Sharp has been named as the Sharp X1. The Sharp X1 is also interesting as the smartphone has been launched as a part of the Android One smartphone program which was launched by Google. As far as the launch is concerned, the Sharp X1 has currently been launched in Japan. It is priced at JPY 70,524 which is approximately $625 as well as Rs. 40,300, and its availability is only limited to Japan currently but the smartphone may be available in other parts as well.
Talking about the specifications of the Sharp X1, the smartphone comes with a 5.3-inch IGZO LCD display offering Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the Sharp X1 houses the 64-bit Snapdragon 435 (MSM8940) octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. The device also packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to additional 256GB via MicroSD card slot. It runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Also, the smartphone will get 24months of guaranteed updates to the latest versions of Android as it is part of the Android One program.
Apart from this, the smartphone comes in three color options: White, Dark Purple, and Mint Green. Apart from this, the most interesting feature on the smartphone is that the new Sharp X1 also comes with IP68 certification making it both water and dust resistant. Talking about the Android One program, Google launched this program to give the stock Android experience to all the users around the world who cannot have Nexus or Pixel devices.
