Today LG has started rolling the February 2018 security patch update for LG G6. The update bumps the software version from H87011i to H87011j and brings the February 2018 Security Patch for LG G6 along with regular bug fixes and improvement. This update is still based on Android 7.0 Nougat. There is no information on when we can see Android Oreo on LG G6.
Talking about the specs, LG G6 features a 5.7-inches display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is powered by Quad-core (2×2.35 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) and Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 coupled with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32/64/128GB internal memory which can also be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The camera on the LG G6 comes with Dual 13MP (f/1.8, OIS, 3-axis, phase detection AF) + 13 MP (f/2.4, no AF), dual-LED flash and 5MP front shooting camera.
The update is currently rolling via OTA (Over The Air) to every user around the globe. The rollout is in a staged manner. It may take a couple of days or weeks to reach every LG G6 users. To receive the OTA update notification, you must be running stock firmware.
The update brings nothing major except the security patch, bug fixes, and other improvements. Now upgrade to a more secure version of software on LG G6 to free from Malware and another virus.
How to Update LG G6 to H87011j [LG-H820]
If you have the OTA update on your phone, then we do recommend you to install the February 2018 security patch update to keep your phone safe from vulnerabilities. Well if you have no update, then please check the OTA update manually by following the guide.
How to check OTA update on LG G6:
Go to settings—> about phone —> system update
If you have the update notification on your LG G6 phone, then hit the DOWNLOAD button to start upgrading your phone to latest software version H87011j.
Before proceeding, please make sure your phone has enough charge of at least 50%, take a full backup before upgrading or downgrading your phone. To download the OTA file, you should be on a stable WiFi connection to enjoy uninterrupted software download.
Once if you have all this, you can proceed with upgrading LG G6 to H87011j.
