Will LG K20 Plus Android 9.0 Pie update rollout in the future

The LG K20 Plus was launched back in December 2016 with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Unfortunately, the LG K20 Plus is still running on Android Nougat in 2019 and didn’t receive any official update of Android Oreo yet from the company. LG’s update track record isn’t good as compared to other device brands. LG offers great value for money devices but when it comes to providing software updates, LG users mostly get disappointed due to lack of support. Even flagship LG smartphones barely get major Android updates and takes too much time which users don’t like at all. Now, the question is Will LG K20 Plus Android 9.0 Pie update rollout in the future?

The answer is most probably ‘NO’. Now, if you ask why, we will share brief details on it. In terms of the specifications, it’s a budget-friendly entry-level smartphone came with SDM425 SoC. It paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of onboard storage options. So, it’s quite unfortunate that the device won’t get the most featured Android Pie update in the future.

Though the K20 device is listed on the official Android Enterprise website with Android 9 Pie. But the fact is, in the US, the K20 was launched in 2017 with Android Nougat. The U.S. variants of the LG K20 smartphone sold via Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and MetroPCS carriers. All K20 series like LG K20, K20 Plus, K20 V, and K20 LRA variant running on Nougat.
