Most of the readers would know about Tecno by the time since we have written some articles about their smartphones. Tecno is a budget smartphone vendor which has operations in most countries. Back in September 2019, the brand unveiled its Tecno Spark 4 smartphone. This was the latest budget offering from the brand and it had awesome specifications.

After rolling the Android 10 GSI build by phhusson, Today we have the Lineage OS 17.1 for the Tecno Spark 4 based on Android 10 GSI. Thanks to the XDA Recognized Contributor AndyYan for sharing this Lineage OS 17.1 on XDA Forum. To install this, you need to unlock your device bootloader and you can use either ADB fastboot method or TWRP Method (if available).

GSI stands for Generic System image which is an unmodified Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code, runnable on a variety of Android devices that has treble support. If you are using the Tecno Spark 4, then you can follow this guide to install the Lineage OS 17.1 on your device. As we already said, this build is based on Android 10, which is Google’s 10th version of Android OS with plenty of new features and system UI changes.

Tecno Spark 4 Specifications: Overview

The Tecno Spark 4 sports a 6.52-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The device has a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. Further, the display also sports a screen to body ratio of 90 percent and the display can blow all the way up to 450nits of brightness. Underneath the Tecno Spark 4 it sports the MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core SoC. This SoC is also known as MediaTek 6762. It has four ARM Cortex-A53 cores which are clocked at 2GHz and pairs with PowerVR GE6320 GPU which clocks at 650 MHz. This Helio A22 chipset pairs with 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM options. Further, the device comes with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage options. This Internal storage is also further expandable via a micro SD card slot up to 128GB.

Coming to the optics department, the Tecno Spark 4 sports triple rear camera setup. This camera setup includes a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture value. The primary sensor pairs with a 2MP depth sensor and finally it also sports a tertiary low-light camera sensor. The rear camera supports PDAF, LED flash support that too a Dual LED, eight scene modes, AR Stickers, custom bokeh, AI HDR, AI Beauty, and Panorama. To the front the device sports an 8MP sensor. This front camera supports features like AI Beauty Mode, Portrait Mode, in-built AR Stickers, Wide-Selfie Mode, more.

The Tecno Spark 4 packs a 4,000mAh battery which the brand claims to deliver up to 26 hours of calling time, 6 hours of video playback, 6.9 hours of gaming and 110 hours of audio playback. The brand still uses a micro USB port for charging and doesn’t come with support for fast charging. Further, the device runs on Android 9 Pie which is based on HiOS 5. Talking about the security measures, the device comes with support for Face Unlock and also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well. Connectivity options in this device include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS, Dual VoLTE, and USB OTG. The Tecno Spark 4 has onboard sensors like an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

What’s on the Android 10 version?

Google has officially unveiled the latest version of Android OS called Android 10. The update is already going live for Pixel series devices. It brings plenty of new features to the device system like system UI, new gesture navigation, improved privacy and location control. The update also offers enhanced app permissions, foldable display support, security features, system-wide dark mode, etc.

The Android 10 also offers built-in call screening, multi-camera API, smart replies in the notification panel, 5G support, improved call quality, bubble feature, live caption, and more. While the latest version also improves battery life, Focus mode which is similar to the Do Not Disturb mode, etc. Apart from that Android 10 also features 65 new emojis. It also comes with direct audio streaming support to hearing aid devices.


Lineage OS 17.1: Android 10 Build

Lineage OS is an open-source and free operating system that is based on the Android platform. It is the successor to the custom MOD, the CyanogenMod, which shut down its operation in December 2016. However, Cyanogen. Inc retained the rights to the custom MOD and gave a rebranding to it as Lineage OS.

Well, LineageOS 17 will be based on the latest Android 10 and it comes with all the Android 10 features and Lineage customization options which allows users to be more advanced. Now you can enjoy Lineage OS 17.1 on Tecno Spark 4 by flashing this custom ROM.

Steps to Install Lineage OS 17.1 ROM on Tecno Spark 4

First, unlock the Tecno Spark 4 bootloader and flash the latest TWRP Recovery if your device is supported. Here we have mentioned all the requirements and download links to flash the Lineage OS 17.1 on Tecno Spark 4.



LineageOS 17 GSI build is based on PHH’s AOSP Android 10 GSIs which is still marked as a pre-release. Even on a device that runs Pie GSIs nicely, it’s still possible to get broken media, camera, RIL or even flat-out no-boot. You are strongly advised to try PHH’s original and then identify/report issues there, before moving onto other GSIs that is based on his work. Please report bugs here only if it’s specific to this GSI.
