Motorola unveiled the new iterations of G-Series family in Brazil a month ago. The event introduced three devices from the 2018 G-Series. Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Play are the three devices part of the launch. All the three handsets equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. And a futuristic 18:9 aspect ratio displays. The face of the device is the obvious upgrade from the previous generation G-Series devices. Motorola explicitly mentioned its plan for selling the new devices in different regions. As a part of the decision, some markets will be limited to two devices or even one device from the 2018 line up. The Moto G6 and G6 Play are available in the US while the powerful G6 Plus will be available in other markets. Now just like the US, Motorola India is planning on launching the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play on June 4.
Motorola announced the June 4 launch via its Twitter handle Motorola India.

The Moto G6 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. Paired with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage options. The Moto G6 also features a microSD support for up to 256 GB storage expansion. The face of the device comes with a beautiful 5.7 inches FHD+ Max Vision IPS display panel. Running at a 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution the screen is in 18:9 aspect ratio.
In the camera department, the rear dual sensor set up has a 12MP primary at f/1.8 and a 5MP one at f/2.2. The 8 MP at f/2.2 with front LED flash takes care of selfies. With a decent 3,000 mAh battery with Fast charging or Turbocharging as Motorola like to call should keep the device running all day. The Moto G6 comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Will be sold via Amazon India.
Moto G6 Play
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 is the heart of the Moto G6 Play. With options for 2GB or 3 GB RAM along with 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage, the Moto G6 Play is the trimmed down version of G6.
The small brother of Moto G6, the Moto G6 Play has only a single camera set up at the rear. A 13 MP running at f/2.0 is available for image capture at the rear. The selfies can be captured by an 8 MP sensor with LED flash on the front. Speaking of the front, the Moto G6 Play has a 5-7-inch HD+ display. At 1440 × 720 pixel resolution the screen will be in 18:9 aspect ratio.
The major noticeable difference under the hood is the battery capacity. With a huge 4,000 mAh capacity, the device should run longer than the other two devices. The Moto G6 Plus also comes with Android Oreo out of the box. The G6 Play will be available through Flipkart.
Both the models get the fingerprint sensor. The bigger Moto g6 has it on the front below the display, the Moto G6 Play houses it in the Motorola logo on the rear side of the device.
Apart from the different fingerprint sensor placements, the duo retains the 3.5mm headphone jack. And will be available for purchase through offline Motohubs.
Despite the popularity of the Moto G-Series, the launch tweet raised curtain to a new conflict with #Boycottmoto tag and #MotoNoUpdatesCompany with users being grumpy on Motorola’s update policies. Android on Motorola devices is one of the minimalists OEM optimized version that is available. Though it is close to stock Android, Motorola inches in the update cycle. Which probably lead to these backlash in customers.
