Updated on July 8, 2020: HMD Global has finally started pushing the latest Android 10 firmware update to its Nokia 1 model that bundled with the updated June 2020 Security Patch. Although the update roadmap has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Plenty of Nokia 1 users have recently reported that the stable Android 10 update has arrived via OTA on the top of June 2020 Android patchset.
The June 2020 patch includes the system security and stability improvements that also offer major security vulnerability fixes in order to prevent a remote attacker to harm the device data & system. The new firmware update bumps up a new software version V3.090 that brings dark mode, additional controls for privacy & location, Google Security Patch (June 2020), and more. May 2020 Security Patch
Updated on June 02, 2020: Nokia is currently rolling out the May 2020 security patch for Nokia 1. It only steps up the security patch of the device. There is no major integration of any features as such. The latest update is already making its move over the air. It weighs around 78 MB. OTA updates usually move slowly from region to region. So, it will take you some time to see the update on your device.
Your Nokia 1 will notify you automatically when the update knocks into it. Then you can download and install it. If you cannot wait till then, then go to the Settings app of your phone. Then go to System and under System Update, check for the latest May 2020 patch for Nokia 1. Keep checking repeatedly till the updates shows up and then install it
Updated on March 31, 2020: Today Nokia 1 received a March security patch with a size of 69MB with no major changes except security patch, and known bug fixes. There is no official download link to manually install it on your device. You have to wait for the OTA update to hit your device on its own. Here is the screenshot
Updated on March 04, 2020: The device is now receiving the February 2020 Security patch based on Android 9.0 Pie Go Edition. The update is labeled with software version V2.20B. As we speak, the Android security patch is now available in the Indian and Iraq region. It may hit every user with the model number TA-1011.

You have to download this above OTA file. Then you have to flash it manually on your phone using ADB.
- Make sure to enable USB debugging on your Nokia 1
- Have a PC/Laptop
- Install the Nokia 1 USB Drivers
- Most importantly, you need to install ADB and Fastboot on your PC
How to Manually Install the May 2020 Security Patch for Nokia 1
- Download the above OTA file to the same folder where your ADB setup is present (most in C drive folder ADB)
- I suggest you rename the OTA file to something simple but with the .zip extension remaining as it is.
- Next, open PowerShell Window by doing Right Click + Shift Key > select Open PowerShell Window here.
- Switch off your phone > simultaneously tap Power + Volume Up buttons to bring the device to stock recovery mode.
- On the Recovery, go to the option Apply update from ADB. Use the Volume Up/Down button to scroll around.
- Use the Power button to select that option
- On the PowerShell give the following command to check the connectivity of your Nokia 1 with the PC/Laptop
- Now, type in the following command to execute the OTA file
./adb devices OTA File name.zip
- The device should reboot manually once the update installation finishes up.
