Last year (2019), some of the smartphone brands have showcased their consistency and performance by delivering faster and frequent software updates (mostly security patch) to its devices. As a non-Pixel brand, Nokia devices has also done a great job by delivering security patch updates quite faster. Now, the year 2020 has started and HMD Global is rolling out a new firmware update to an entry-level device. Nokia 2.3 receives December 2019 security patch with version V1.11B based on Android 9.0 Pie.
It’s worth mentioning that the handset was released recently in December 2019 and already has started receiving the security patchset. The December 2019 Android Security Patch Level fixed a major vulnerability that could affect the system security by occurring a permanent denial of service. Although, we can’t expect any additional features or improvements for the Nokia 2.3 in this update. The update is waving over-the-air globally and will take some time to hit all the units.
Check OTA Updates
As the firmware OTA update is making its way in batches, the broader roll-out process will start very soon. However, it’s recommended to check OTA updates quite often to get notified easily. Make sure to connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network and maintain 50% of the battery level as well.
Go to the Settings app on your device > tap on System > select Advanced > System update to check the OTA update. If the latest firmware version V1.11B is available to download, just grab it.
