Nokia 6.1 Kernel Source Code Is Now Available Officially

Attention Nokia fans and developers..! HMD Global is rolling out the Nokia 6.1 kernel source code to the public. Every month one or two device keeps getting their kernel source released. Last month Nokia 2.1 and in July Nokia 5.1 kernel source were released respectively. However, still, the issue remains that the Nokia devices have locked bootloaders. Nokia is providing the kernel source code with compliance to the General Public License.

Kernel source code is a very useful tool for the developers. Having the kernel source code with them, these developers can develop any custom ROMs, mods, modifications for any device. Today there is a great demand for custom ROMs among the young users. These people want to explore the depth and potential of Android. So, kernel source becomes an indispensable part of custom ROM development. However, with Nokia, it is apparently impossible.

Nokia 6.1 is a dual SIM smartphone that is available from April 2018. This device flaunts a 5.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. This flagship from Nokia runs on a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor. Users get the option for 3 and 4 GB of RAM and this phone packs both 32 and 64 GB of expandable internal storage. In the camera section, the Nokia 6.1 brings a 16 MP camera on the rear panel and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
