Noia is again trying to acquire its kingdom by launching the best smartphones. They recently launched Nokia 6.1 in July 2018 which is a phenomenal device for Nokia lovers. Since Nokia smartphones were known for being long lasting so today we are going to check how do Nokia 6.1 performs in the waterproof and dust resistant test. These test will show us whether Nokia 6.1 is waterproof or not. Since the official site of Nokia doesn’t tell anything about the IP68 ratings for his device, we need to test it ourself in our Nokia 6.1 waterproof test. So without a further due, let’s start.

Before we start our Nokia 6.1 waterproof test, let’s get to know some of its specifications.  Th device comes with a 5.5-inch touch display with standard aspect ratio with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. Nokia 6.1 comes with Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. The device is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-core processor with Snapdragon 630 chipset. With 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, you won’t find anything to complain. Talking about the camera department, Nokia 6.1 comes with a 16MP primary camera with ZEISS optics and 8MP selfie shooter camera. n this test, we are going to check whether this device is waterproof or not. Since there are no official IP68 ratings so its hard to tell. However after out test results come out, you will be sure about it.

The waterproof test comprises of different types of test which includes water. So we are going to take a couple of tests to figure out whether this device is waterproof or not. So let’s start!

Splash Proof Test

In Splash proof test, we will test the device to withstand an accidental water splash. This will tell us whether the device survives in such condition. Since there aren’t any official IP68 ratings for the device, so it might or might not pass the test.

So when we subject Nokia 6.1 to artificial water splash, the device seems to work fine. there are no complications at all.

Rainwater test

In this test, we are going to suspend the device in artificial rain environment. This also mimics the showering conditions as well.

After testing the Nokia 6.1 in artificial rain condition, we observed that the device does not show any signs of damage. However, users may not use this device in the shower for calling or other purposes. This is because the touchscreen flickers a lot.

Washing Test

In this test, we are going to wash Nokia 6.1 with running tap water for 1 minute and check whether it survives or not. This will help us verify that this device is waterproof or not.  After performing the washing test, the device seems to be working. There are no signs of water damage to any component of the device.

After the dustproof test, no dust was found in the internal parts fo the device. This shows that indeed Nokia 6.1 is dustproof.
