Updated on January 23, 2020: If you remember, last week Nokia rolled out the January 2020 security patch for Nokia 7.2. However, that v1.39 update did not bring along the Android 10 OS. Now, out of the blues, the Finnish OEM is pushing a brand new software update v1.400. Apparently, the new Nokia 7.2 January 2020 Security patch is of huge size yet it has no signs of Android 10. Yes.! it is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
We believe the v1.400 maybe a preparatory update that will pave the way for Android 10 into the device. This means in the next update there are chances of getting Android 10. A similar kind of update is also rolling out to the Nokia 6.2 users.
As OTA rollout happens in batches, so not all the users will be able to get it right away. We have our hands on the OTA firmware of the v1.400 update. So, if you do not have the patience to wait for the automatic update to knock into your device, then you can manually install it. Follow the installation guide and you will be good to go.

Check for OTA
If you have not yet received the automatic OTA update, then follow the below process to check for the availability of the v1.400 update.
Go to Settings > System > Software Update > tap on Check for Update. If the latest update is already rolling in your region, it should show up. Again we must remind you that this update weighs a massive 1.5 GB. So, find a stable W-Fi network and download the v1.400 software. This way you will not be charged for the data you spent. Also, remember to maintain 50% of the battery charge before installing the new update.
