Updated on May 5, 2020: Today Nokia rolled April 2020 Security Patch update to Nokia 7 Plus globally based on Android 10. Well, the security patch fixes the vulnerability in the Android OS that can be attacked remotely using arbitrary code easily. We highly recommend you to install the latest patch to secure your Nokia 7 Plus in the future cyber-attack. You can check for the latest software update by going into device Settings > System > System updates.
Updated on March 4, 2020: Along with Nokia 1, Nokia 3 and Nokia 6.1/6.1 Plus, HMD Global also started rolling the February 2020 security patch level to Nokia 7 Plus as well. It brings nothing new except the security patch and improvements. If you have received it, then you might be a lucky user like the one who tweeted this first.
Well, the user Pradeep from India tweeted that he received February 2020 Security patch in his device last night. As we can assume, the update is currently live via OTA for users in India, it may go live for users around the globe. The update weighs around 54.8 MB and based on the Android 10 update. If you have not received this update, then make sure to check for OTA manually.

As we know, the OTA update carries in a phase-wise manner; it may take a week or a month to complete the rollout process for every user base. If you haven’t received the update, then either you can check for the update manually or install the firmware manually. How to Check Software Update Manually?
This update will knock into your devices in a phase-wise manner. Your phone will automatically catch the OTA as you will get a notification to install it. If you cannot wait for the OTA to show up then you can manually check for the OTA update. Just follow the steps below. To capture the OTA manually, Go to phone Settings –> System menu –> System Update —> Tap on the Check for Update option. If the update is available to download and install it.
You may connect to a Wi-Fi network to download the Nokia 7 Plus February 2020 security patch. With Wi-Fi, you can save your carrier’s data charges. Also, make sure to have 70% or more battery charge on your phone. A low battery will not let you install the update.
