How To Manually Install OnePlus 5 Android 8.0 Oreo update

Pre-Requisites

• Charge your device above 70% battery level

• Take a full backup of your device data before flashing the update.

Methods and Steps to Install

Let’s get going with the various methods.

Method-1 Local Upgrade From The device

This method is quite simple.

Step-1 First download the latest Oreo ROM package from the above download section.

Step-2 Then transfer that zip file to your phone’s internal storage.

Step-3 Now go to Settings > System Update > Local upgrade

Step-4 Now you can see the ROM package you downloaded above.

Step-5 Now simply tap on Upgrade Now Option.

Method-2 ADB Sideloading

Here is the second method.  For this method of update, you have to activate the Developer Option on your device. To do it,  go to your phone’s Settings >  About phone » and tap “Build number” seven times.

This will enable Developer options on your phone.

Now go back to Settings > Developer options > and tick the USB debugging checkbox.

Step-1 First install ADB and Fastboot on your Windows/MAC system.

Step-3 Connect your device to the PC through a Micro USB cable.

Step-4 Now go to the folder where your ADB is installed.

Step-12 Wait for the device to reboot itself, or you canreboot manually from the home screen of recovery menu.

Method-3  Flash via TWRP Recovery

Step-1 Download the ROM Zip file from the download section.

Step-2 Move the ROM Zip file to the device storage.

Step-4 Then long press vol down +power button. Let go when you see OnePlus logo on the screen.

Step-5 In TWRP screen go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe

Step-6 Tick the checkboxes Dalvik, System, Data, Cache etc and Swipe to perfrom the full wipe.

Step-7 In the TWRP homescreen, tap on Install

Step-8 Navigate and select the ROM zip file package.

Step-9 Swipe to flash the Oreo ROM update.
