Oppo F7 Android 10 ColorOS 7 Stable Update Rolling Out

Updated on June 26, 2020: The wait is finally over, as Oppo has now started rolling out the Android 10 (ColorOS 7) stable update and is available for markets in Asia, Africa including India. The new update is tagged with version number CPH1819EX_11.F.11 and brings in all the new ColorOS 7 features along with Android 10 core features to the Oppo F7.

Updated on June 2, 2020: For those who could not get themselves enrolled with the first batch of Oppo F7 Android 10 ColorOS 7 beta update program, they can now register themselves with the second batch. The OEM has now kick-started the second batch enrollment for both the Oppo F7 and F7 128GB variants. Note that the beta recruitment is limited to 10,000 users of the Oppo F7 and F7 128 GB and is available for the users in India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, Algeria, and the Philippines. This announcement was made on the official community channel of ColorOS.

Those who are interested in applying, need to make sure that they are running the official version C.14/C.13/C.12 in order to be eligible for receiving the update. Moreover, the update will be arriving with version number CPH1819EX_11.F.09. As per the official post, you can head over to Settings > Software Updates > tap the settings icon in the upper right corner > Trial Version > fill in the required information, select the checkbox > tap “Apply Now”. Updated on May 29, 2020: As per the official roadmap shared by Oppo, while the users are currently testing the beta updates of the Android 10 ColorOS 7, they can expect the Android 10 stable update on their Oppo F7 starting from June 24. The updates will be pushed for all the users in India via OTA in batches.


Updated on May 28, 2020: Finally for those who have registered with the Android 10 ColorOS 7 beta updates for the Oppo F7 are receiving the beta updates on their devices. The update comes with version number CPH1819EX_11_F.09 and the OTA weigh in around 283 MB in size. Notably, the beta program was live for the users in India for 2000 users in the first batch and the update has been pushed for those 2000 beta users only, as of now. The update brings in all the features of the latest ColorOS 7.1 along with core features of Android 10 to the table for the Oppo F7.


The Oppo F7 was the first-ever smartphone from Oppo that features a notch display in India. It was released in April 2018 with dual Nano-SIM, Android 8.1 Oreo (ColorOS 5), MediaTek processor, a decent battery, and more. Last year, the handset has received the Android 9.0 Pie update over ColorOS 6 and running on the same version till now. Now, talking about the Android 10 update, it was launched in September 2019 and then Oppo also released its own customized skin version called ColorOS 7 which is based on Android 10. The company has already released the update timeline for its eligible devices and there are plenty of Oppo devices those gonna receive the Android 10 early beta update over ColorOS 7 in Q2 2020 expectedly. Oppo has launched its new custom skin version called ColorOS 7 officially a couple of months ago. What’s on Android 10?

Google has announced the 10th iteration of Android OS in September 2019. It comes with several features and system improvements. To be very specific, the Android 10 version mainly offers better user experience and privacy/security features.

It features System-wide Dark Mode, Gestures Navigation, Wi-Fi & QR Code scanning, improved app sharing menu, improved app permissions, enhanced location privacy control, easy security updates, Focus mode, live caption, family link, multi-camera API, built-in call screening, sound amplifier, better notification control, and more. It also offers 5G support, foldable support, improved lock screen, smart reply, etc.

Oppo F7 Android 10 with ColorOS 7 Update Status

Updated on May 1, 2020: Oppo has revealed the new update timeline for the Oppo F7 Android 10 with ColorOS 7 Beta. The good thing is that the beta update program will start on May 16, 2020, for the Oppo F7 model. It will be an early adopters’ program of the ColorOS 7 and the limited number of users will be eligible by applying for it.

After the launch of ColorOS 7, Oppo has already released the official stable Android 10 update to its plenty of models. Now, the company is just carrying the momentum to roll-out the ColorOS 7 update to the rest of the device models in batches.

Recently, the ColorOS Global Twitter handle has mentioned that the company will roll-out ColorOS 7 + Android 10 trial version from March to June 2020 and a couple of device models will receive the update notification for the early adopters. While the ColorOS 7 trial version will be initiated for the Oppo F7 device model in May 2020. So, we may have to wait for the exact date or week for the beta recruitment process.

Oppo F7 Specifications

The Oppo F7 came with a 6.23-inches LTPS IPS LCD display with 1080×2280 pixels resolution quality. It has a 19:9 aspect ratio screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device came with Android 8.1 Oreo and running on the Android 9.0 Pie version. It’s powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, Mali-G72 MP3 graphics.

The handset is paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of internal storage options with a dedicated MicroSD card slot. It packs a 16MP (f/1.8) rear camera with PDAF, HDR, Panorama, an LED flash, etc. While on the front side, the device sports a 25MP (f/2.0) selfie camera.

It’s backed by a 3,400mAh battery, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, A-GPS, FM Radio, MicroUSB 2.0 port, USB OTG, etc. The device features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass sensor.
