OPPO will unveil its flagship device i.e. the OPPO Find X2 within the first quarter of 2020. Two new OPPO devices have been certified by the Thailand’s NBTC. The two new devices are the OPPO Find X2 with a model number of CPH2023 and OPPO Find X2 Pro with a model number of CPH2025. Apparently, OPPO’s Vice President has shared some information about charging speed and display of the upcoming device. Shen Yiren, Vice President of OPPO, has today shared a post in Weibo which confirms that the OPPO Find X2 will come with support for a massive 65W Super VOOC Flash Charging technology.
Earlier we have seen 50W VOOC Flash Charging Tech from the brand. This will be the fastest charging technology that is currently available. Even though Vivo and Xiaomi have also been certified for a similar fast charging tech. The rest is it is who will launch this 65W or similar tech first. Shen also said In the Weibo Post that 2K display with 120Hz. This means that the display will be coming 120Hz screen refresh rate.
Around 10 days back “Shen” via Twitter said that “He has recently got hands on with the #OPPOFindX2 and the screen is second to none. Confirmed – this will be a game changer”. The new device will sport a QHD display instead of 2K. 2K is just a marketing word used in China. OPPO’s 65W Super VOOC was earlier found in Reno Ace, but that device never came out of its home country i.e. China.
Other specifications of the device include Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which supports dual-mode 5G support with SA and NSA. The device also reportedly packs a 4,000 mAh or higher battery. The brand has also said that it will use the latest sensor from Sony. Reports says that the brand has jointly developed the new Sony IMX 689 sensor for X2. This is a 48MP sensor with a sensor size of 1/1.3 inches. This is larger than the 1/1.75 sensor which we have seen in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, it had a Sony IMX 600 sensor. This sensor will be the primary sensor in the triple rear camera setup.
Further, the report also adds that the Sony IMX 689 sensor which will pair a Sony IMX 708 sensor. This IMX 708 sensor will be the super ultra wide angle sensor. Finally, it will sport a 13MP telephoto sensor with support for 5x hybrid optical zoom. To the front, the Find X2 will be equipped with a Sony IMX616 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Previous reports have also suggested that the Find X2 will also sport with a 6.5-inch display. Apparently, the curvature of the phone’s screen will be 80-degree, less than the 88-degree waterfall screen. Further, the upcoming phone is also expected to come with their self-developed OPPO M1 co-processor which is actually a power consumption controlling chip. This chipset can effectively reduce the power consumption which is caused by the high refresh rate and a 2K resolution supporting screen (although it has a QHD panel i.e. 1440p one).
OPPO has confirmed their presence for the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020, which will be starting from February 24. We expect that the new OPPO Find X2 to be unveiled in that tech show.
