Back in August 2019, Realme launched their Realme 5 series smartphone which includes the Realme 5 Pro and Realme 5. Later when the brand unveiled its Realme 5i and 5s, they discontinued the Realme 5. Now the brand announces price cut for their Realme 5 Pro smartphone. This was the first device from the brand to sport a quad-camera setup and the second device from the brand to sport the 48MP sensor. Back in March 2019, Realme unveiled their Realme 3 and later in April they unveiled their Realme 3 Pro. So there are chances that the Realme 6 series will launch as they gave us a sign by slashing the prices of Realme 5 Pro. The Realme 6 series will include the Realme 6i, Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro.
New Pricing of 5 Pro!
Talking about the new pricing of the Realme 5 Pro, it starts at Rs 12,999 for the base variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device gets a price cut of Rs 2000/-. Since the base variant was priced at Rs. 14,999 at the time of launch. There is also a higher variant i.e. the one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which was priced at Rs 15,999. Now that variant also gets price cut and starts at Rs 13,999 i.e. it also gets a Rs 2000 price cut. While top-end variant i.e. the one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage was priced at Rs 17,999 which is now available at Rs 15,999. This also gets a Rs 2000 price cut.
Realme 5 Pro Specifications
To recall, the Realme 5 Pro sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display and it is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3+. Underneath the Realme 5 Pro, it sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset with the Adreno 616 GPU. This chipset pairs with coupled with 4, 6, or 8 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of Internal storage. Further, this is also further expandable via a micro SD card up to 256GB. The device has a dedicated SIM slot instead of the Hybrid slot.
As said the Realme 5 Pro was the first phone Realme to sport a quad-camera setup. This quad-camera setup includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture value. This primary sensor couples pairs with a secondary 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.25 aperture and 119-degree field of view. This also gets a tertiary 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and finally a 2MP portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture. To the front, the smartphone sports a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
The smartphone packs a 4,035mAh battery which charges over a type c port and has support for VOOC 3.0 20W Fast Charging Tech. When launched the device runs on Android 9 Pie on top of Color OS 6. The brand has scheduled the Realme UI based on Android 10 update on February. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Realme 6i receives Singapore’s IMDA Certification!
Recently, Realme 6i has received certification from Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority, which is popularly known as the IMDA. The device receives certification with the model number RMX2040.
