After the launch of OnePlus 7, Redmi congratulated OnePlus in a rather sarcastic way. Manu Jain, Global VP of Xiaomi and MD of Xiaomi India tweeted: “Congratulations OnePlus team! There’s a new flagship in the town. Flagship Killer 2.0: coming soon.. Hold my dragon!” Later, official social handles of Xiaomi and Redmi posted this too. And now, you can see this ad all over the internet.

Now in case you don’t know, Redmi is expected to release their new flagship in China soon, which will be called “K20” or “K20 Pro”. There were rumours that the phone will be launched in India as the Poco F2, but these official announcements put those rumours at rest. This further raises some more questions like what difference will it have from the Poco F2, and how will the two budget flagships from sibling brands compete against each other. Though it is possible that the Poco F2 will be cheaper, with less impressive specifications. Xiaomi is trying to conquer every price segment possible in the Indian market with now 3 brands present here.
Redmi K20 Specifications:
The phone’s specifications have leaked a few times in past. According to the rumours, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform with the Adreno 640 GPU. A big 6.39-inch AMOLED display will be present on the phone. The full-screen display will not have any notch and the selfie camera will pop up from the top like most of the flagships released this year. Tripple cameras will be present on the rear side with Sony IMX 586 being the primary sensor, and the selfie shooter will be of 20 MP. It will run on MIUI on top of Android Q. The phone will have a 4,000 mAh battery along with 27W Quick Charge support.
The specifications are based on some rumours only, so do take them with a pinch of salt. The phone is expected to be priced between 2000 to 3000 Yuan (20 – 30k INR). We’ll update you with any further reports as soon as we come to know.
