Samsung will unveil its new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip aKa the new Galaxy Fold along with Samsung Galaxy S20 series in San Francisco on February 11. Several leaks about the device have been going online in the industry. Now the new renders of the smartphone have been surfaced, which tells us about the design of the smartphone. This renders confirms with the previous render which you have read yesterday.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
From the renders, it is sure that the Galaxy Z Flip will come equipped with an Ultra-Thin Glass display which is so thin that it gives the ability to bend without cracking. There were earlier reports, that Samsung will use Ultra-Thin Glass display instead of the polymer film which has been in the Galaxy Fold. The Ultra-Thin Glass Display makes the phone more strong and durable. While this also increases manufacturing cost for the company.
We expect the smartphone to sport a 6.7-inch flexible screen, which is significantly larger than the Motorola RAZR’s display. The RAZR packs a smaller 6.2-inch display. The RAZR had a similar clamshell folding design like the Galaxy Z Flip smartphone. There were reports that the device will sport an Infinity-O display which will house a 10MP camera sensor.
The report also adds that the company has used a new innovative hinge called Hideaway Hinge in the Galaxy Z Flip. This is practically invisible when you use the smartphone and when it unfolds. We don’t know that the company has used this for the closing mechanism. Once the device is folded, you get access to a small notification display which is significantly smaller than that of the Galaxy Fold and this will be probably exclusive for displaying the time, date, battery indicator, and incoming notifications.
The dual-camera setup along with flash places next to the notification display. There are some reports which suggest that the primary camera sensor will equip the in-house 108MP. Further, it will have support for 5x optical zoom. But some other reports suggest that it will sport two 12MP sensors.
Talking about specifications other than design, we expect that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC will power the device. This SoC will pair with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device will be running on OneUi 2.0 which is based on Android 10. Interestingly the device will have two batteries. The one will have a capacity of 900 mAh and the other one to pack around 2,100mAh or 2,300mAh. The device would support fast charging. There are some rumors which suggest that it will support 45W quick charging support.
