Redmi just used to be a series of smartphones under the Xiaomi brand, which consisted of cheaper and cost-effective phones unlike the flagships and higher priced phones released by Xiaomi. This changed some times back this year when Xiaomi made Redmi a separate brand from Mi, though both are still under Xiaomi.
The first independent phone released by Redmi was the Redmi Note 7. Now fans throughout the world are expecting Redmi to release a cheap phone with flagship Snapdragon Soc like the Poco F1 launched last year by Xiaomi. There are also rumours that Xiaomi will launch the Poco F2 as a Redmi phone in China. Now, a Chinese Weibo user has leaked the specifications of the phone. Have a look at them below.
The phone will have a Snapdragon 855 Soc built on 7nm architecture with 6 GB of DDR4X RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Other storage variants might also be made available. A big 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display will be present on the phone with a waterdrop notch on top. An in-display fingerprint sensor will also be present under the screen. The phone will house a triple camera setup on the back, including a primary 48MP IMX586 sensor, 8 MP secondary and a third 13 MP sensor. A 32 MP selfie shooter will be present inside the water drop notch in front. The phone will run on MIUI 10 on top of Android P.
The phone will have a 4000 mAh battery inside, which will support Qualcomm’s 18W Quick Charge 4+ fast charging. Like all other Xiaomi flagships, it will also include NFC support and IR blaster. The phone will be 8.3mm thick and weigh 190 grams. It will launch in May this year.
Though the leaker looks quite confident, these specifications can’t be trusted fully as the source is not much reliable. So do take them with a pinch of salt.
