The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus were making more news in the recent times long before the unveiling happened. The two new flagships are finally launched and have reached retail shelves now. But now the predecessors are making news by getting new updates. Samsung and other carriers are not planning to stop the sales of these old flagships even though new devices in the series came out. Now T-Mobile Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus Oreo update rolling out. Other carriers including Verizon have rolled out the Android Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Following this yet another important carrier T-Mobile started rolling out the update for all of their Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices.
Most of the users of T-Mobile Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus have already received the new update. Users who don’t get the OTA yet can expect the update to arrive very soon. The update comes with the Android 8.0 Oreo and the Samsung Experience 9.0. The update weights 1548.94 MB on Galaxy S9. While the Galaxy S9 Plus gets an update with a size of 1513.01 MB. The Galaxy S9 updates come with a version number G950USQU2CRB9 and Galaxy S9 Plus with a version number G955USQU2CRB9.
The new update includes all the Android Oreo features including the Autofill feature, picture in picture mode, and notification dots. We can also expect improvements in the Edge screen including better Edge screen visibility. A high contrast keyboard can also be seen with the update. More clock option for the lock screen and an Always-on display are the other additional options. But the March security patch from Android is missing with the update. Instead, the old February security patch is added to the update. You can manually check the device by going into settings > Software update > Download updates manually.
