Update V5.140 Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware for Nokia 6 in India

Finally HMD Global started rolling the Android 8.0 Oreo firmware for Nokia 6 users in India. Earlier the company started rolling the beta update for Nokia 6, but it was not available in India at that time. Today the company finally rolling the same update for Indian users after fixing and improving the beta version. The update comes with the same build number of v5.140 for Nokia 6.

In Twitter, HMD Global Chief product officer; Juho Sarvikas, tweeted about the update. In his tweet he mentioned,

The update will be available for users who are already signed up for the Nokia beta labs. If you are a Nokia Beta Lab member, then you will receive the update notification on your phone anytime soon. The update is rolling via OTA for the users running Stock ROM without any root access or mods installed. One of the twitter users, tweeted about the update that he has received on his phone with build number v5.140.


The update is rolling in a phase-wise manner for the beta testers who already signed up. The OTA weighs almost 1799.3MB in size, slightly bigger than the earlier beta update which was released for other countries even though the build number is same. You can at any time check if the Android Oreo Beta OTA Update 5.140 is officially available for you. The steps to check for the update on Nokia 5 are:

  1. Open settings
  2. Go to about phone
  3. Tap on software update

If you have received the OTA update with build number V5.140, then hit the DOWNLOAD button to start the upgrade process. Still not received then please join the beta program to update your Nokia 6 to Android 8.0 Oreo.
