The South Korean OEM LG, launched the LG V20 back in 2016. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which was the then-latest chipset for flagships. It is coupled with 4GB of RAM and offers 32/64GB of onboard storage options. There is a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion of the storage.

Talking about the display, it comes equipped with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, 16:9 ratio, and 513 PPI. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Innovatively, there is a secondary ticker display at the top of the device’s display which is 160 x 1040 pixels, standing at 2.1 inches. It is good for glancing over your notifications and other in-bound messages.


Coming to the camera department, it sports a dual-camera setup with 16 MP + 8 MP lenses, the latter being the ultra-wide lens. It is capable of recording 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, 720p@120fps, and offers 24-bit/192kHz stereo sound recording. In the front, you get a 5MP selfie shooter via which you can record 1080p@30fps.

Under the hood, the device is juiced by a 3200 mAh battery which supports Fast charging 18W, Quick Charge 3.0, and USB Power Delivery 2.0. The fingerprint is rear-mounted and its camera with Android 7.0 Nougat and now finally rests at Android 9 Pie.

Lock screen – Limits use of fingerprint in case of consecutive fails

  • If fingerprint detection fails 20 consecutive times, fingerprint recognition will be disabled in accordance with Google CDD.
  • Once the device is unlocked with a secondary secure lock, the user can resume using fingerprint.

Settings – Settings structure changes

  • The Settings menu has been reorganized and simplified based upon usage. A simple description of each menu is provided for easier access to the desired menu. The menu order changes based on frequency of use.
  • Removed “more” from the bottom of the menu.
  • Expanded “Searching” capability in which characters and character strings in the title, description and app name can be searched. In addition, recently searched words can be displayed and ripple animation applied on the selected item.
  • Provided “Looking for something else?” at the end of the page, which may be used to search within the tab menu.


Settings – Lock screen & security

  • Lock screen settings and Fingerprints & security settings have been unified under Lock screen & security.
  • “Security status” section is now placed at the top of Lock screen & security settings in accordance with Google CDD.

  • Saved personal information which will be automatically filled when it is needed.

How To Check For Software Update On Verizon LG V20?
