OnePlus recently unveiled its newest flagships for the year 2020, the OnePlus 8 series of phones. The good thing is that apart from including the wireless charging support for the devices, the company is going all out with 5G and all the OnePlus 8 series phones will be coming with 5G support. This is something that other OEMs should also incorporate in their flagships as they are charging huge cash for their devices. Well, while the device is making quite a few headlines, one of the major US carrier networks, Verizon has now pushed a new update for the OnePlus 8 5G. This is the first system update being pushed by the Verizon for the OnePlus 8 5G phone.
As you might have noticed from the above changelog that the update also brings enhancements for the 5G connectivity, as well as premium voicemail user experience in for the OnePlus 8 5G. Ideally, the update will be pushed in batches, meaning that it will take a while before it hits all the units. However, you can head over to Settings>>System Updates and check for the update notification manually and tap on the update notification if it is available, to download the latest update.
Talking about the update, it arrives with the version number IN2019_15_200420 and surprisingly packs the March 2020 security patchset, which many of the OnePlus users would not believe, as the OEM is known for the faster and timely rollout of the latest updates. Whatever be the case, the update is being pushed via OTA. You can find the complete information about the firmware and the official changelog of the update received on the OnePlus 8 5G Verizon variant, below:
