Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy Note 20 series in the recently concluded Unpacked event this month. Well, there was already so much hype around the device, and by the looks of it, the company has lived up to the expectations. There are some subtle touches to the design, under the hood the device packs a lot of punch in terms of specifications, the camera has been upgraded, there is a new line of colors, and much more. All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is a great package, but its pricing can be a topic of debate. This post will give you information about all the latest updates rolled out for the Verizon Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G smartphone.
Keep in mind that Samsung has been outperforming Google in terms of releasing the latest security updates for several months now. Moreover, the company is also prepping up for the release of the Android 11 based One UI 3.0, which is expected to pack tons of new features for the users. For more detailed info on One UI 3.0, you can check out our dedicated post on it by clicking here. Besides, for a complete list of devices that will pick up the Android 11 One UI 3.0 update, you can head here.
Notably, carrier variants of the devices lag behind their OEMs in rolling out updates. However, this post will keep up informed whenever a new update rolls out for the Verizon Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. We will update this post once a new update goes live for the Verizon model. So, with that being said, let us take a look at the software update tracker itself:
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G – Device Specification
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G comes powered with the latest Snapdragon 865+ chipset which is coupled with a staggering 12GB of RAM. It offers an onboard storage capacity of up to half-a-terabyte, i.e. 512GB. In the display department, the punch-hole is now smaller and the AMOLED display size is 6.9-inch with the protection of the recently released Gorilla Glass Victus. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 mins). The panel is HDR10+ certified and has a 120Hz high refresh rate.
It comes with Android 10 out of the box with One UI 2.5, which is the latest iteration of Samsung’s own UI. For global models though, Samsung will bring an Exynos 990 powered Galaxy Note 20 Ultra as well. The phone also sports UFS 3.0 storage for high-speed data transfer. Talking about cameras, there are tremendous improvements. The phone now packs a triple camera setup with a 108 MP primary sensor. The company has now reduced the ‘gimmicky’ 100x Space Zoom and dialed it down to 50x in the Note 20 Ultra 5G, which is still a work in progress.
The Note 20 Ultra is capable of recording 8K@24fps, 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, 720p@960fps, with features like HDR10+, stereo sound recording, gyro-EIS & OIS, etc. In the front, you now get a 10MP selfie shooter which can record up to 4K@60 fps. Under the hood, it packs a 4500 mAh battery which seems mediocre considering how Samsung is bringing a 6000 mAh battery on mid-rangers.
The fingerprint display is under the screen and it has wireless Samsung DeX support as well. The battery is capable of fast charging at 25W, USB Power Delivery 3.0, Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging, and Reverse wireless charging 9W. It comes in some new colors, i.e. the popular Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black, Mystic White. And not to forget its almighty, S-Pen.
