Vivo V11 Pro Android 10 under FuntouchOS 10 update – Release Timeline

New updates are added on August 25, 2020: The Vivo V11 Pro Android 10 FuntouchOS 10 update is still under greyscale testing for the users. Notably, the greyscale testing means that it is available for a limited number of users. However, this also hints that the stable update will hit anytime from now.


New updates are added on August 12, 2020: Finally, the Vivo V11 Pro Android 10 FuntouchOS 10 update is now rolling out for all the users. This piece of information has been confirmed by the Vivo V11 Pro users on Twitter. The update is arriving via OTA with version number v8.7.1 and weighs in around 3.29 GB in size. So, we would advise the users to download the update via a stable WiFi internet connection.


New updates are added on August 04, 2020: For those who are waiting for the Android 10 FuntouchOS 10 update on their Vivo V11 Pro, we have some good news for you. As per a tweet by Vivo India official Twitter handle, the Android 10 update is under development and users will have to wait for some more time, before it begins rolling out. New updates are added on July 18, 2020: After receiving the Funtouch OS 10 update based on Android 9 Pie, the attention of the users has now shifted on the Android 10 update. It has been said quite a number of times that the update will arrive shortly, but the current scene does not reason with it. Fortunately, as per a comment by Vivo in its Facebook fan group, the Android 10 greyscale test for Vivo V11 Pro can commence somewhere in August-end or early September. For the unaware, greyscale tests are conducted where the update is pushed to a small number of users and after receiving feedback that the update has no issues, it is made available for the masses. Here is what the comment reads:

Thanks for your support. We will start the grayscale test of Android 10 for V11 Pro late in August or early in September if there is no accident. There are still some tests no finished yet due to COVID-19. Hope for your understanding.

New updates are added on June 9, 2020: While the Vivo X21s which is the Chinese equivalent of the Vivo V11 (v11 Pro) units, has received the Android 9 Pie-based Funtouch OS 10 update, users across the globe were quite curious to know when the update will onto their devices. While, as good news coming from the Vivo customer support, they have confined that the Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) update will soon be hitting the Vivo V11 Pro units soon as the device is in their plans of Android Q update. You can check out the tweet here. Moreover, it seems like this will be the last Android OS update it will receive as the device will get Android 10 as its second OS update.


New updates are added on June 5, 2020: While the Vivo V11 Pro users are waiting for the Android 10 update to hit their devices, the Chinese OEM has now started pushing the Funtouch OS 10 update. What’s more interesting is that the update is based on Android 9 Pie which means that the users of the Vivo V11 Pro might have to wait for a little more longer before they can get their hands on the Android 10 OS. Notably, the update is currently live for the users in China and for the model Vivo X21S which is known as Vivo V11 Pro in India. As far as Android 10 is concerned, the update is yet to roll out for the phone and once it is received it would be the last Android OS update that the phone will be getting.

New updates are added on May 16, 2020: Going by the information shared by one of the Twitter users, the Android 10 update for the Vivo V11 Pro is scheduled to roll out somewhere in August 2020. We do not know if the information is official or not as there has been o announcement by Vivo for the same. So, we would advise our readers to take this piece of information about the Android 10 update (Funtouch OS 10) for the Vivo V11 Pro, with a pinch of salt. Here is what the tweet reads:


Vivo is not the smartphone manufacturer you look up to for speedy and timely updates on your phone. The company seems so busy building new tech and smartphones, that it has literally forgotten that timely updates are one of the most important factors in sustaining in the current smartphone market. And what might sound pretty dumbfounded and irresponsible from such a big smartphone manufacturer from China, that as per recent official tweets, Vivo has completely ruled out the fact that the Vivo V11 Pro smartphone will be updated with the Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) update?

Responding to a user query, Vivo has stated that the Vivo V11 Pro is working pretty stable in the current Android version and the company has not yet planned to update the device, as of yet. Interestingly, the device goes by the name Vivo X21s in China is already slated to receive the Funtouch OS 10 (Android 10) update in June, back in the home country. But, this response coming from Vivo India, has almost put the Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) update plans for the Vivo V11 Pro, in the back burner. Now it will be interesting to see, what reaction the users of the Vivo V11 Pro come up with after such a statement by the official Twitter handle of Vivo India.

To recall, the Vivo V11 Pro was launched back in 2018 and it comes with Android Oreo out of the box and has received one major Android OS update in the form of Android 10. Meaning that this Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) would have been the device’s second and last OS update. But, the above statement has, for now, we cannot say for sure that the device will not get the update, as we have mentioned above its Chinese counterpart is slated for the update in June.
