A Chinese smartphone company, Xiaomi announced its first Android Go based smartphone, called Xiaomi Redmi Go. The Redmi Go will available in Europe and also in other markets in February.

Xiaomi Android Go smartphone comes with a 5-inch display panel that supports 1280 x 720 pixels of resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The phone will available in Black and Blue color options. It powered by Quad Core Cortex-A53 cores under the hood which clocks at 1.4 GHz. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC present on the board. The phone has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage on board. There are also speculations that the company might be launched the 16 GB internal storage variant of the phone. The Redmi Go also supports micro SD card for external storage.

In terms of camera, the phone comes with an 8-megapixel sensor on the back side along with LED flash and on the front side, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system which is based on Android Go edition. The Redmi Go packed with 3,000 mAh capacity battery inside the body which is more than enough for the tiny screen and modest chipset. The phone comes with dual SIM, 3.5 mm audio jack port, Micro USB port connectivity features. However, there are no details about the other specs of the phone.

There is no confirmed date when the Xiaomi Redmi goes on sale but the phone will go on sale in February. The phone goes on sale in Europe first at the €80 price tag. There are no words for the other markets prices and launch date.
