Updated on December 30, 2020: The open beta phase for the Android 11 update is now live for the Redmi Note 9 5G smartphone. Notably, the official channel is opened for the units in China and will take sometime before rolling out for all the units in the home country. However, even before the official channel, the open beta update is up for grabs for the Redmi Note 9 5G and it arrives with version V20.12.28. You can download the update file from the below section:

Redmi Note 9 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, which is equivalent to the Snapdragon 700-series chipsets. The phone is coupled with 6/8GB of RAM and offers 128/256GB of onboard storage. The phone has a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone has a 6.53” LCD with 1080p+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the display is TUV-certified for low blue light emissions.
Talking about the camera, the phone has a triple-camera setup that houses the 48MP camera, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro sensor. The primary lens is capable of recording 4K@30fps. The selfie camera captures 13MP photos and 1080p videos. Under the hood, Redmi Note 9 5G is juiced by a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. Good thing is that the phone keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers onboard.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G
5G on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is enabled by the Snapdragon 750G that is paired with 6/8GB of RAM. The phone offers 128/256GB of onboard storage and comes with UFS 2.2 storage for faster data transfer. It sports a 6.67-inch screen with 1080p+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the Android 10 MIUI 12 out of the box and is in line to receive the Android 11 update as it is under internal testing.
Talking about the cameras, the phone packs a quad-camera setup with a 108MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide lens, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth lens. The primary lens is capable of recording 4K@30fps, and 1080p@30/60fps. For selfies, there is a 16MP lens that is capable of recording 1080p@30fps. Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, it packs a 4820 mAh battery that supports 33W Fast Charging.
