AT&T started rolling the latest update to AT&T ZTE ZMAX 2 with build number Z958V1.0.0B26. The Update has been sent via OTA (Over-The-Air) to all the ZTE ZMax 2 users running Stock ROM. This update is still based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
ZTE ZMax 2 came out of the box with Android 5.1 Lollipop and later upgraded to Android Marshmallow. Today AT&T carrier has released the June Security Patch for AT&T ZTE ZMax 2 (Z958) which fixes the vulnerabilities and also brings performance and stability improvements. - Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%.
- You will loose the original ROM or any CUSTOM ROM if you already installed on your phone. So make sure to Backup your phone before doing this step.
- You can also backup all your apps and data without root.
- Download all the Zip files from below and Place it in your phone’s root of internal memory.
Steps For How To Install Z958V1.0.0B26 June security patch for AT&T ZTE ZMax 2 (Z958)
To update the Stock Firmware Z958V1.0.0B26 for AT&T ZTE ZMax 2 (Z958) based Android 7.1.1 Nougat, you can either use any of the method below. Follow the guide properly to flash the Android 7.1.1 Nougat Z958V1.0.0B26 for AT&T ZTE ZMax 2 (Z958).
Method 1
- Download the ZIP file and rename it to update.zip
- Copy the update.zip file to your sd card.
- Navigate to the phone Settings -–>Update and Click on the menu button.

- Switch off and Reboot your device into Recovery Mode (press Volume down+ Power Button key’s together)
- Select “Apply update via SDcard”.
- Select the zip file and wait until the installation process completes.
- Reboot the device after installation.
- Done!!!
