Armor Types In Sons Of The Forest?

Golden armor:

This is the ultimate armor in the game that gives you defences equivalent to invincibility. So if you have this equipped, you can go berserk with your attacks and not worry about the protection.

However, there is a catch to it. You cannot craft this armor; you can only find it. It will be in one of the underground bunkers in the map’s southeast corner. On top of it, this armor can be attained only after completing a significant chunk of the game. So even though it is the ultimate armor everybody needs, you will have to use other armor until you get your hands on this.

Tech Armor:

The Tech armor is a bit of a hassle when it comes to crafting it, but it is highly effective against cannibals and other hostiles that you meet in the forests. The materials required to prepare this armor are:

Tech Mesh – 1
Circuit Board – 1
Wires – 1
Batteries – 1
Duct Tape – 1

Once you have these materials, you need to go to one of the underground bunkers, where you will find a 3D printer. Finding the printer is not an issue at all. The trouble is with the 3D printer’s Resin. The Resin is limited; you will have to purchase some from the shop to get more Resin.

So yes, this armor does require you to spend some money, but until you get your hands on the ultimate golden armor, this can be the alternative armor for you.

Bone Armor:

This basic armor will provide you with adequate defense against the hostiles in the game, and you don’t need to spend any money on it. The primary crafting material here is the bones. And in a forest filled with cannibals and other hostiles, you will find an abundance of bones just by slaughtering them. If you are lucky, you can even find some bones in the caves that result from past cannibal attacks.

Materials required to craft this armor are:

Bones – 4
Rope – 1
Duct Tape – 1

If you can’t find many bones when you slaughter the cannibals, you can go the extra mile and torch the bodies. That will get you some leftover bones as well.

Creepy Armor:

Apart from cannibals and animals in the forest, you will also encounter several mutants that will come for your life. Once you slaughter them, you can even use their skin to craft new armor. As the name suggests, the creepy armor looks a bit hideous with mutant skin on your body, but it does provide medium effectiveness regarding the defense.

Items required to craft this armor are:

Mutant skin
Combat knife

The materials required for this armor are readily available in the forest; having one might be handy in a pinch.

Leaf Armor:

Yes, the armor is precisely what the name suggests. It is a basic armor made of abundant leaves in the forest. But what goes can a leaf armor do against any enemy attacking you? That is precisely the case with this armor. Wearing this armor is equivalent to just wearing any piece of cloth and will not protect against the lethal attacks you will encounter in sons of the forest.

Nonetheless, if you still want to try out this armor, you will need the following items:

Leaf – 1
Cloth – 1

The good thing about this armor in Sons of the Forest is that you can build it early in the game, and that is when it would make sense to use it as well. It won’t be effective against the enemies you encounter towards the later phase of the game.
