Fix: Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS Ray Reconstruction Greyed Out

NVIDIA RTX graphics cards released in August 2023 marked the release of a new feature in games called Ray Reconstruction. This is an addition to the Ray tracing feature that was rolled out the year before. What Ray Reconstruction does is that it makes ray tracing a whole lot smoother. This was a feature that was part of the release of DLSS 3.5.

Many games talked about this feature, and Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the first games to talk about the inclusion of this feature into the game. But when gamers are now looking to use this technology with Cyberpunk 2077, they cannot use it. The option or feature is appearing greyed out on their gameplay. Let’s look at what you can do to resolve this issue.

Fix: Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS Ray Reconstruction Greyed Out

How to Fix Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS Ray Reconstruction Greyed Out?

First, this feature is exclusive to only NVIDIA RTX graphics cards. So, if you are attempting to use this feature with an AMD graphics card or an Intel Card, you will see this feature greyed out in Cyberpunk 2077.

If you have an NVIDIA RTX GPU but still see the Ray Reconstruction option greyed out, the only possible reason is that you are on an older graphics driver. So, you need to update the graphics driver.

There are three ways to update the graphics drivers.

Firstly, you can let Windows do it for you. Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows Key + R and enter “devmgmt.msc”. Click on OK, and the Device Manager window will open up. Double-click on Display adapters to expand it. Right-click on your graphics unit, and choose Update driver. Click on “Search automatically for updated driver software,” and your computer will automatically start scanning for the latest graphics drivers on the internet. If it finds anything, it will download and install it on your system.

Secondly, you can visit the GPU manufacturer’s website(NVIDIA) and look for the setup file for installing the latest drivers. Just download the file that works with your system’s operating system. Once you have the setup file, install it like any other program, and you will have the latest graphics drivers.

Thirdly, you can opt for a third-party driver utility program that scans your computer for missing or corrupted driver files and installs the latest drivers on your system. You can use such an application for updating your graphics drivers. These programs do charge a bit for their service. But it will be a worthy investment as you don’t need to worry about any driver-related issues in your system again.

The GeForce Game Ready Driver version that supports Ray Reconstruction technology is version 537.42, released on September 21, 2023. If you are running on a version later than this or this, Ray Reconstruction should work without issues on Cyberpunk 2077 and its DLC, Phantom Liberty.

So this is all about what you can do to fix the Cyberpunk 2077 DLSS Ray Reconstruction greyed-out issue. If you have any questions or queries about this guide, comment below, and we will reply.
