Deep Rock Galactic is a 1-4 player cooperative first-person shooter video game that has been developed by Ghost Ship Games and published by Coffee Stain Publishing in May 2020 for PC and Xbox One. It offers stunning space Dwarves, 100% destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, endless hordes of alien monsters, and more. Now, some PC players are facing issues with the Deep Rock Galactic Keep Failing at installing mods.
If you’re also one of them, you can follow this troubleshooting guide to easily fix such an issue. According to several reports on the DeepRockGalactic subreddit forum, whenever players are trying to install mods for the first time on Steam, although the mod.io account has been created and connected to the steam account through the modding menu, after restarting the game there are no mods installed. It’s quite frustrating.

Even after trying logging out and logging back into the mod.io account then connecting to Steam & restarting both the computer and game, the issue seems persistent. Some affected players have also tried installing one mod once at a time but doesn’t come in handy. For those who don’t know, the game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam but somehow the mod installing issue is ruining the gameplay experience whatsoever.
Luckily, there is a solution or you can say a workaround that you can try resolving the mod installing issue by following the steps below.
- Make sure to simply delete the mod.io folder on your PC and then start the game again > Reinstall (re-subscribe) mods through the mod manager and the issue should be fixed completely.
- If you’re trying to search for the “mod.io” folder inside the installed game directory and somehow you can’t find it, then make sure to check the same at ‘C:\Users\Public\mod.io’ and another at ‘C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\mod.io’ location. So, delete both the mod.io folders then relaunch the game and reinstall the mods again.
