Fix: Narwal Robot Not Turning on or Not Charging anymore Issue

Why is Narwal Robot Not Turning On or Not Charging Issue?

There are a variety of reasons why your smart vacuum doesn’t charge even though you docked it properly. It could be dirty charging contacts, a faulty dock, battery degradation, or software issues. It is important to perform regular maintenance and updates. If you are interested in how you can solve the non-booting or non-charging Narwal Robot issue, see the fixes below.

How to Fix Narwal Robot Not Turning on or Not Charging Anymore Issue

So, here are some fixes that have the potential to resolve the Narwal Robot not turning on or not charging Issue:

Fix 1: Look at your on/off switch

Using the suction power switch on the robot itself, Narwal Robots vacuums can be powered on and off manually. When the battery isn’t needed, or a vacuum session isn’t scheduled for a few days, you can switch off the bot to conserve power.

In some instances, the robot may flip this switch to the off position when bumping into furniture. Robots become unresponsive when they are being used, so users put them in their chargers for a boost, but they don’t always charge when they are off.

It’s important to make sure that the manual switch is on. It is sometimes enough to fix this simple problem.

Fix 2: Clean all charging contacts

Narwal Robots must have two metal contact points designed to fit into two metal plates on their charging docks. It is only when these two pieces are properly connected that the battery is able to charge.

It is possible, however, that the contacts won’t connect. To check if the problem has been resolved, clean the contacts on both the robot and the charging dock. When the robot is charging, the battery indicator lights on your vacuum will start blinking so you can see if it is functioning.

Fix 3: Check if you need to manually place the vac

There should be blue LED indicators on the top of your Narwal Robots vac so you can tell how much battery power it has. If one of these light indicators is on, then your bot probably has enough battery life to automatically recharge.

Besides the red Shark vacuum indicator light, there are other colors that indicate other problems. In this case, the battery may not be able to fuel a trip back to the dock if all the lights are off on the vacuum.

Your vacuum will need your help to start charging in these situations: Carry it to the dock and put it in place. For the first time you use your robot vacuum, make sure it is charged in its dock before you use it.

Fix 4: Check the dock for power and proper operation

It’s not uncommon for something to go wrong with the charging dock, preventing it from functioning properly. There should be a green light illuminating on the side of the dock when it is ready to charge. You can try another outlet to see if it can get power if your dock doesn’t. If it doesn’t, make sure it’s plugged in.

If you want to install a dock, make sure you place it in an area free of obstacles. In front of it, there should be five feet between it and the wall and three feet on either side. It is possible that the robovac will not be able to return to the start if there is not enough room to do so.

Fix 5: Inspect and replace the battery

When all else fails, you need to open the battery case and see if anything is wrong. In some cases, the battery inside the Narwal Robot vacuum can become dirty or slip away from its contacts. If your problem persists, you may need to clean and reposition it. In that case, you should replace the battery with one that matches your model if it is an old one or clearly damaged.
