HTC, you might have forgotten the name of one of the most sought after smartphone brand, once upon a time. The company has somehow kept itself alive and are trying to update and bring in new life to its smartphones to revive the brand. However, that dream seems distant due to aggressive competition as well as the innovation that is being brought by the Premium brands and also sub-brands as well. After almost a year, the HTC U12+ users in the Europe region will finally taste that Android Pie on their devices. We are on the verge of the launch of the latest OS from Google, the Android Q or the Android 10 but, HTC has failed to keep up with the pace both in terms of innovation in its smartphones and also with the updates.
One thing to rejoice for is that HTC was able to roll out the Android 9 Pie for the U12+ users in the Europe region at least before the name announcement for the Android Q (sarcasm!). According to the information from the users of HTC U12+ shared on Twitter, the Android 9 Pie brings in some new features and a makeover for the device as well. You can check out one of the user’s tweets below;

However, it is also reported that North America, Canada, and the US regions have not yet received this update. The new Android 9 Pie update for the HTC U12+ weighs around 977mB in size and it removes the Google+ from the BlinkFeed. You also get some system enhancements as well as a few bug fixes. Moreover, this update also brings in the July 2019 security patch update as well.
As usual, this update is made available in stages and will be rolled out via OTA. So, you will have to wait for the Android 9 Pie update to arrive on your HTCU12+ device in the Europe Region.
