- The feature of Fuel-Efficient Route is Enabled by default in the iOS and Android Google Maps App. That means while taking the guide of Google Maps; it will automatically put you on the eco-friendly route, given it is the fastest or a little bit slower than the fastest route possible.
- Once you’re on the go, you can swipe up the panel at the bottom of the screen and see how much fuel you’re saving. Generally, using this feature is 5%-15% savings for every journey.
How to Turn Off Google Maps Fuel-Efficient Routes?
There can be some scenarios where the Fuel-Efficient Route won’t be the fastest. In those cases, you might not want to use this feature. You can turn it off by following some easy steps. Here’s how to turn off Google Maps Fuel-Efficient Routes:
- Go to the screen where all the available routes to your destination are shown.
- Tap on the three dots on the top-right corner of your screen.
- Select Route Options.
- Turn off the “Prefer Fuel-Efficient Routes Setting”.
In the way mentioned above, it will get turned off. Even though Google Maps will keep on showing you Fule-Efficient Route by a leaf but won’t make it your default route. So that you can always choose between being the fastest or the most eco-friendly.
