Full Guide to Flash Huawei Firmware on Huawei Mate 8 Using Normal and Force Upgrade Methods

If you’re looking to flash the firmware on your Huawei Mate 8, follow this detailed guide. There are two methods to upgrade your device: the Normal Upgrade and the Force Upgrade. Each method serves different purposes, depending on the state of your device.

Pre-Requisites:

  • This guide is only for Huawei users.
  • Ensure you have a MicroSD card or sufficient internal memory space.
  • A MicroSD card of 8GB or more is recommended. Preferably, use a card from Sandisk, Kingston, or Kingmax.
  • Your device should have more than 30% battery life to complete the upgrade process.
  • Backup all important data before proceeding with the upgrade, as the process may erase user data. Refer to our Complete Backup Guide for more details.
  • Before flashing, unzip the SDupdate_Package.tar.gz file to extract the UPDATE.APP file. Place this file in the dload folder on your SD card.
  • Make sure you have the latest USB drivers installed on your PC.
