Larian Studios boss Sven Vincke in an interview with IGN revealed details about this querry. He said, “We made a big game, so I think there’s a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay,” he said. “We don’t charge you any micro-transactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront it’s a big meaty game. So I think that should be able to exist as it is. This is what allows us to continue making other games.”
When asked what the developers would do if Microsoft approached the team for a Game Pass proposition, he said, “Oh, we always said from the get-go, it wasn’t going to be on Game Pass, it’s not going to be on Game Pass.”So it is quite evident that we won’t be seeing the game on Xbox’s subscription plan. The developers are aware of their game’s popularity, and they want to gather as much revenue as possible without giving the game out to any subscription service.
With the PS Plus, things are a bit different, though. You still can’t play the entire game of Baldur’s Gate 3 on your PlayStation with a PS Plus subscription, but the developers did make it possible for the PS Plus subscribers to try out the game as a demo. Any PS Plus can thus try the first two hours of the game for free. To play the full title and try out all the endings of the game, which in total results in somewhat 100 hours, a user has to buy a digital copy of the game.
The pricing for the title is different for different platforms. We have the pricing details of the game for PC, Xbox and PS5. For PC users, the game is available for 2999 INR, PS5 users can get the game for 5827 INR, and Xbox users can get the game for 3799 INR. Depending on your platform, you will have to cash out some money to enjoy the full story of Baldur’s Gate 3. Neither Xbox Pass nor PS Plus subscription will get you the full title.
