The sixth installment in the Black Ops series, the Black Ops Cold War is finally here and gamers are giving rave reviews to the game. It is a first-person shooter game that provides a free-to-play gameplay experience like Call of Duty: Warzone. The Black Ops Cold War game is developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. Apparently, it is available across all the platforms including, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It is set in the early 1980s time of the Cold War. There are new game modes like Multiplayer, more extensive customization options, and new map dynamics for improved gameplay.

And it is done in a negative way, as users are not able to properly hear them during gameplay. Best Audio Settings to Hear Footsteps in Black Ops Cold War
There are a few settings, inbuilt in the game, that you should tweak in order to hear the footsteps properly in the Black Ops Cold War game. Here is one correct preset or best audio settings that you can make use of to hear footsteps clearly in the game.
- Mute Sound: Not Muted
- Master Volume: 100
- Music Volume: 0
- Sound Effects Volume: 100
- Dialogue Volume: 100
- Cinematics Volume: 100
- Audio Presets: High Boost
- Hit Markers Sound Effect: Disabled
From the above settings, it is clear that in order to get the best footsteps audio, one should tune down the Music Volume to 0 and set the Audio Presets to High Boost. However, you can choose from any of the three preset Boost modes given in the game.
In order to change the Boost modes given in the Black Ops Cold War game, you should follow the steps below:
- Head over to the Settings menu.
- Then move to the Audio tab.
- Select Audio Presets.
- From here scroll down to High Boost.
- Press Confirm.
Note that these changes would not impact the footsteps hearing capabilities of the enemies using the Ninja perk. But, hearing the footsteps of normal enemies would be significantly improved. Apart from these settings, one should also remember to mute all the other players in the lobby to hear the footsteps more clearly. Because chattering teammate could really hamper the sound listening capabilities of others.
