The keyboards have a major role in a smartphone because we use this for inputting anything. For instance, if we need to search for something or for texting or for composing mails (this also includes in texting, but I can’t write this post without separately mentioning this). For all these, we need a good keyboard app right? Earlier people including me hates to use the Google Keyboard because it literally doesn’t have many features. It was looking similar to the AOSP keyboard. Most of us were using the SwiftKey Keyboard those times, while I was using the ZenUi keyboard because my Asus Zenfone 5 was pre-loaded with this keyboard.
Google keyboard to Gboard!
But things were completely changed when Google’s keyboard was renamed to Gboard. The new Gboard app came with a ton of features like GIF creation, email address auto-completion, floating keyboard mode, Google search integration, and Google Translation integration. Although we were missing the popular clipboard option which was seen on Samsung phones with TouchWiz UI on top. Although it doesn’t have a clipboard option, I started using this when I switched to Lenovo K6 Power. From there onwards I started using Gboard on every phone which I have switched to date. Even on my Realme X2, I’m using this Gboard. A few months before on my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, I received an update for Gboard and now the Gboard also brings support for a fully functional clipboard on Gboard.
I hope that everyone will have a new option in the overflow menu of Gboard called “Clipboard.” Tap on this and turn on this feature. From now onwards you will be able to view some of your previously saved clips. Even you can add new clips, delete a clip, and pin a clip. You can access the clipboard manager via a shortcut (which shows the clipboard icon) when you open the keyboard.
With this article we mean to help you guys with all the available options with the Clipboard feature in Gboard. So be ready for becoming a pro with the new Gboard. First, let us talk about the most important topic i.e. turning on the clipboard.
