Download Android 15 Custom ROM: Supported Device List

Android 15, officially called ‘Upside Down Cake’, represents the latest generation of Google’s Android mobile operating system. This version continues to build on the features and strengths of its predecessors. It includes key features, improvements, and user interface revamps to bring performance as well as security at the same level. With the help of a seamless user interface, Android 15 focuses on efficiency and privacy than ever before. But what about the Android 15 Custom ROM?

Security and privacy enhancements aim to personalize the user experience and become a primary aspect of Android 15. Currently, Android 15 isn’t yet officially released by Google and is expected to arrive in Sep-Oct 2024 if we follow the trend. But the good thing is that the Android 15 Public Beta build is available for compatible Android devices to enjoy early beta testing. As the platform stability has been added, users will get a smoother and more personalised mobile experience.

Due to the highest number of user community and developer support across the globe, Android OS does have plenty of customizations that people appreciate. Once the source code is available, custom firmware developers will be able to implement changes accordingly. Custom ROMs are fully customization-friendly and allow users to install aftermarket firmware from multiple developers. You’ll have to go through in-depth flashing steps to complete the ROM installation.

What is a Custom ROM?

Android Open Source Project (AOSP) by Google even allows non-Pixel Android devices to flash the latest version of Android OS, compatible with ‘Project Treble’. Here Project Treble indicates the devices that are running on Android 8.0 Oreo or higher. So, AOSP Project Treble-compatible Android device users can easily flash the GSI (Generic System Image) file to get an early taste of the new Android OS.

The best part is that even if your Android device isn’t capable of receiving the major Android update, you’ll be able to install the custom ROM on their Project Treble devices. Talking about a Custom ROM, it’s an aftermarket third-party firmware that includes customizations, visual changes, less bloatware, possibilities of rooting, installing custom modules, and more. It means you’ll get a clean vanilla user interface and a smoother performance as compared to stock Android.

Please Note: Custom ROMs are unstable enough and do have common bugs that you should consider. Sometimes security flaws or software OTA update-related issues can become quite major for daily users. So, it’s recommended to flash the custom firmware on your secondary device (if any).
