Your device can only be eligible for getting the new Google Assistant feature if you have some specific settings on your device. The criterion published by Google need your device to be:

  1. The devices from countries like USA, UK, India, Australia, Canada, and Singapore need the language to be set to English
  2. Devices from the USA with language Spanish will also be eligible
  3. Devices from countries like Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil, and Korea can have any regional language settings
  4. The Google play services and the Google app should be updated to the latest version

The users with the settings and apps as mentioned above will be eligible for the Google Assistant feature. But the users with English language USA on their setting will be getting it sooner. Others will have to wait for few days.

The steps you can follow to get the Google Assistant on your device is:

  2. Download and install the latest Google app from here
  3. open settings
  4. Tap on languages & input
  5. Tap on languages
  6. Select add a language
  7. Select English (United States)
  8. After selecting tap on the menu button
  9. Select remove
  10. Select all languages except the English (United States)
  11. Tap on the trash icon to delete
  12. Now go back to settings again
  13. Tap on apps
  14. Find the Google app and tap open it
  15. Tap on clear all data
  16. Now go back to settings again
  17. Tap on apps
  18. Find the Google service app and tap open it
  19. Tap on clear all data
  20. Wait for few minutes and use the method you do to open Google now to launch Google Assistant
