Updated on February 06, 2021: Today Google rolled the February 2021 security patch update for their Pixel lineups such as Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G), and Pixel 5. The update is labeled with build number RQ1A.210205.004 for the Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, and 4a 5G model.

After launching the Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, this device received the first software update which brings the latest security patch and improvements. In this update, Google has resolved 20 issues dated 2020-11-01 and 13 for 2020-11-05.

Check for OTA Updates

Well, before manually installing the update, we would advise Google Pixel phone users to check for the update via OTA. This eases out the process where you just need to download the package file and it will automatically update your phone. So, in order to check for the November 2020 security update, you need to head over to Settings > System > System Update > Check for Update.

October 2020 Security Patch:

Updated on October 12, 2020: After rolling the Android 11 update to Google Pixel devices globally, the first update to Android 11 is out with October 2020 security patch for Google Pixel devices. The update is now live for the Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4a.

The update is now rolling in a phase-wise manner and may take some time to reach all users around the world in a matter of time. With this security patch update, Google has resolved 20 issues with two additional mainline updates. The update fixes vulnerabilities range from high to critical.
