Long gone are the days when you needed a physical SIM card to access your carrier network. New innovations in technology have made many things a lot simpler. Now you don’t have to worry about popping out your sim card every time you need to change your carrier, as you can use an E-SIM instead of a traditional SIM card.
An E-SIM is a programmable SIM card that is integrated directly inside the phone that supports it. E-SIM cards are easy to use as the only thing you need to do is register with any network carrier. And if you want to change the carrier, you can just program for that particular carrier.
The process of registering an E-SIM is different as you need to first find the EID number for your E-SIM to setup it on your device. Currently, only a few phone manufacturers have started integrating E-SIMs to their phones. Nonetheless, the trend has gained momentum and soon we will get to see E-SIM in more phones.
How to Find the EID Number for E-SIM Setup
The EID number is similar to the IMEI number. Like a phone requires the IMEI (International mobile equipment identity) number to use mobile networks, similarly, a phone with an E-SIM needs the EID (Embedded identity document) number in order to register for certain mobile networks.
